| The first step in helping someone with a chemical dependency problem is helping them to understand the nature of the problem. For this reason, Arbuckle Life Solutions,Inc. offers a six-week educational series provided by members of our professional staff who illustrate various aspects of the problem and possible solutions. The topics of the series deal with the many facets of chemical dependency. The instruction is supplemented by hand-outs to enhance the learning process. Individual exit interviews are conducted upon completion of the program, to review each clients response to the information provided and answer any questions that may have arisen as a result. The series is attended by people from all walks of life and has special significance for those concerned about a family member, friend or themselves. 2: FAMILY: HOW THEY ARE AFFECTED The discussion is divided into four segments: the family trap, dynamics of the family, eco-systems model and codependency. Diagrams are used to illustrate how substance abuse affects the family, and how the family affects the substance abuser. |
